A Wappa Bento Box (わっぱ弁当箱) is a traditional Japanese lunch box made from Japanese cedar or hinoki cypress. The term Wappa (曲げわっぱ) comes from a technique of bending thin strips of wood into a rounded shape. Each box is carefully shaped and secured with fine bamboo strips, preserving a technique passed down through generations.
Lightweight yet sturdy, the natural wood helps regulate moisture, keeping rice fresh and fluffy, and other ingredients fresh until lunchtime. The subtle aroma of cedar enhances the experience, connecting you to nature with every use.
Perfect for picnics, work lunches, or a thoughtful gift for someone who appreciates both practicality and tradition.
